Yesterday on the  SaaS Bootcamp Webinar- How to create a Vision and Mission Statement  one of the startup founders asked me " why do investors are interested to hear our vision and mission before the product and solution pitch?  A vision statement is a written document describing the purpose of your company, what you and what you want to achieve.
A Vision Statement tries to create a mental picture of the ideal state the organization wants to achieve. A vision communicates the values of your organization and its commitment to achieving its goals. A Declaration of Values lists the core principles that guide and guide the company and its culture.
A study by Bain's consulting firm reports that 90% of the 500 companies surveyed have given some kind of mission and vision statement (Bart Baetz, 1998 ). Companies that communicate, understand, and share a mission or vision have proven to be more powerful than those without such a statement.
Based on my personal experience and startup founders that I had a chance to mentor and coach, there is a vision of what you want to do with the company. When everyday life gets in the way, it's hard to keep it on the priority list. The mission of a company exists because it is your goal, your passion or your cause!
Vision and Mission statements define the purpose of the organization and provide to employees a sense of belonging and identity. A vision statement sets out the direction the organization should follow, while a mission statement sets goals and objectives that can be achieved by following these instructions. Visionary declarations can inspire the team and other stakeholders, and encourage them to achieve it.
In order to be successful, your company must have a purpose, stand for what it wants to do and work towards it. When planning your company's short- and long-term strategy, a strong mission and vision are crucial in identifying the steps that need to be taken to achieve its vision and ensure that you stick to the mission.

As is clear from the above, the formulation of a coherent and meaningful vision and mission statement contributes substantially to the definition of basic services and actionable parameters that reflect the spirit of the organization. Vision and mission statement are a focal point that helps align the organization and ensure that everyone works toward a single purpose. They also offer a philosophy for the existence of employees, which is crucial because we as human beings need meaning in order to work, and a vision or mission statement gives the work of a particular organization the necessary meaning.
In other words, vision and mission statements are important for different identities of individuals in their everyday lives. Mission and vision relate to the purpose of the organization and are communicated in written form. According to Cran and Gaich (2009), mission statements form and identify the relationship between employees and the mission of the organization itself, customers, suppliers and employees (Cran & Gaich (2009) A committed mission statement becomes a mantra in all possible actions and weighed in every measure.
It takes a lot of effort to create a clearly communicated, well communicated, and integrated vision and guideline for an organization, but this can have subtle but effective benefits. A well-crafted, clearly communicated and well integrated vision or mission statement defines the reasons for the existence of organizations, the mission they seek and the vision that will help drive success in the future in clear, concise and inspiring terms. You should be proud to publish your vision on your website, letterhead, invoices and other documents and in other prominent places.
A strong mission statement and vision set new goals and help you develop a strategy to achieve them. Entrepreneurs and their stakeholders are inspired by their companies, which have a compelling vision and a clear, rewarding mission. It is important that visionary leaders share their vision with their partners, including customers, suppliers and employees.
A mission statement encourages employees to think about how their actions will affect future business success and a positive corporate culture. It appeals to potential customers and community members and builds a positive connection between it and the brand.
Businesses should place their vision on company vehicles, on the walls of their offices, and create a culture around it. Organizations should also add a Declaration of Values that affirms and defines the values of the organization, which may not be so obvious in a mission statement or vision.
Many entrepreneurs and CEOs tend to forget the importance of vision for their organizations. A vision statement has the potential to inspire employees, customers and other stakeholders, but vision statements are rare and the best visions even rarer. While a vision reveals what an organization wants to become in the future, the mission of an organization is embedded in the past and present.
